Villa in your back yard

Prebuilt units can be used as an extra living space for friends and family that need to live close by. They are called granny flats, which sounds a little flat to me. I think they should be called a Villa. Doesn't that sound bettter. My mom lives in a Villa vs. My mom lives in a granny flat
